Trackback PingsTrackBack URL for this entry I hope you mean that the attempt on the mosque in Venray was PREVENTED by the police. "Botched by the police" means that the Police were the ones doing the attacking. Although I could believe the Belgian Police capable of attempting to attack a mosque, and very capable of botching it, I have a lot more confidence in the Dutch. Martin Adamson (ip:129.215.16.39) 11 November 2004 - 17:58 uur Whoops! Considering I just got complimented by another reader on my command of colloquial English, this is a tough one to swallow ;-) I'll change it, it should have been 'scotched'. Thanks for trusting the Dutch ;-) Arjan (ip:82.161.93.35) 11 November 2004 - 18:22 uur "Thwarted" might be an even better verb. Wouldn't want to offend the Scots, after all. :) vaara (ip:80.127.26.54) 11 November 2004 - 19:36 uur Vaara: as you can see on the right hand side of the screen (beneath 'Zwijgen'), I drink (Irish) whiskey. That's probably more offensive than any verb could ever be ;-) Arjan (ip:82.161.93.35) 11 November 2004 - 22:31 uur Comment
