'A really sweet guy'

In Dutch: the rap sheet of the 'really sweet guy' who tried to rob a Dutch woman and got killed in the process.`

Update 24/1/05: Apparently, this is the rap sheet of a different guy than the robber who got killed last week. Which probably means you can still walk into him.

Thanks for the link. This really took me aback - although I am more shocked than surprised. What do such people have to do to nowadays in order to be apprehended and brought to justice? In spite of the crass arrogance and agression of such criminals, I can't help but feel that we have brought this on ourselves though. That kid must have felt he had carte blanche to do whatever he wanted.

In the Parool article I counted a total of about 80 occurrences that took place over a period of 5 and a half years. That is every three weeks on average. Think I'll make a table of that info.

I'm really at a loss for words. Where to start? And how does one retain one's instinct for justice in the face of what is, in fact, a stunning wall of opression?

As the saying goes "The road to hell is paved with good intentions".

Best regards.

Have you heard about the murder of the Copts in New Jersey? Everyone is wondering if it's another Van Gogh religious murder...
