The rye or the kaiser
I am always grateful for visitors who decide to leave comments that show a personal stake in an issue, especially if they do so by showing vulnerability rather than hostility. Therefore, I'd like to direct your attention to some comments a mother left about her daughter who is suffering from a form of high-functioning autism. Arjan, thank you so much for bringing this up. There is so much we don't know about the human psyche and I'm so disgusted with the way the so-called experts claim to have an explanation for everything. If they can't help you they pump you up with drugs and put you to sleep. Please take a look at what my friend Allison has to say at the link below.

Hi Babbels Ik ben blij dat u gekozen hebt om u zich niet neerslachtig bij de boel neer te leggen, maar juist trots te zijn op uw dochter hoe dan ook. Ik weet zelf ook een beetje hoe Asperger Syndroom in elkaar zit. Ik ben in de zomer van vorig jaar bevriend geraakt met meisje dat bijna precies aan dezelfde beschrijving voldoet als uw dochter. Het enige verschil is dat uw dochter ietsje meer onafhankelijk blijkt te zijn en eigen vrienden heeft en dat vind ik al heel wat. Ik ben zo gefascineerd geraakt van "aandoening" dat ik er alles aan doe om het te begrijpen zodat ik mijn vriendin een beetje can helpen. Ze is heel begaafd en zo artistiek en ze kan zich ontzettend goed met woorden uitdrukken. Ze zei tegen me dat ze heel graag andere mensen zou willen ontmoeten die ook AS hebben. Ik zou zelf niet zo goed weten hoe, dus heb ik haar aangemoedigd om een blog te beginnen.
