Why I will boycott Qantas and Air New Zealand

This is beyond insane.

If anyone knows of other companies that pursue these kind of discriminatory and sexist policies, please let me know in the comments section. Because it's quite apparent that they exist.

Other airlines One News spoke to have similar guidelines. They say it's to protect male passengers from potential allegations as much as the children.

How very thoughtful. Assuming they're referring to potential false allegations, for I don't see why they would want to protect someone from a truthful one, wouldn't it be a better idea to deal with the people making such false accusations?

(Either that, or I want to be seated next to really pretty single women in exchange.)

I dunno. It doesn't sound so bad to me.

"Sir, we notice you've been stuck next to someone's brat traveling alone. Would you please trade places with that poor woman up there who's trip we are about to make less pleasant?"

Gladly.

Agreed, we need to see it for the discriminatory paranoia it is.

Another example, some years ago when my son was in cubs (run by the Boy Scouts organization in Canada, for younger kids), male parents were not allowed to accompany their sons to a cub camp unless they first submitted to a police background check.

While I recognize that this is probably driven by lawyers, I find the "guilty until proven innocent" approach positively insulting, and at odds with my rights as a law-abiding citizen.

Discriminating for men, but also horrible for children. Boys are in fact told they should be scared of what they will grow up to be: adult men. The girls are thaught not to trust adult men, that they have something to fear from them. Nobody happy, everybody damaged.
